Environmental concerns are at the forefront of modern business and society. Mining and other high impact industries continue to create significant environmental contamination around the world. The costs and liability of dealing with contamination and environmental remediation efforts are serious obstacles to change.
MIPSolutions addresses these concerns and overcomes these obstacles with high yield and profitable processing solutions based on molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) technology. Our MIP technology targets specific molecules and ions such as hazardous contaminants and/or valuable commodity metals, captures them through our patented process and then releases the end product. This, in turn, allows processed material to be reused, recycled or sold, enabling our customers to turn environmental liabilities into profits. The primary markets we target are mining, environment, water, and medical.
Our MIP technology was originally developed at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) and our founding scientist. Dr Glen Southard, was a contributor to the technology while in their employ. Dr. Southard set out on a course to commercialize this technology in 2005 and MIPSolutions, Inc. was the result.
Armed with a License Agreement signed by JHU/APL granting it exclusive rights to the Lab’s portfolio of MIP technologies and advances achieved by Dr. Southard, MIPSolutions is poised to revolutionize the filtration and mineral extraction markets.
"There are tremendous possibilities for molecularly imprinted polymers that are attracting a lot of attention. We are looking for commercial partners with a clear focus, strong leadership and commitment. MIPSolutions is one of those companies.”
Heather Curran, technology and marketing manager,
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
